The Toolshed is a highly respected music composition, sound design, research and audio branding company, providing bespoke services to the Advertising, Film and TV industries.
Toolshed’s distinctive approach to audio draws on our composers’ vast experience, which ranges from classical to contemporary.
The Toolshed has worked with some of the world’s most exciting talent, including Ebony Bones, Datarock, The Cuban Brothers, Robbie Williams, Kissy Sell Out and Annie Lennox. Our expertise is reflected through a clientele of multi-national brands, such as Nike, Carlsberg, Channel 5, and Getty Images, who demand creative and powerful musical compositions to capture the essence of a brief.
Established in 2008, Toolshed was founded by Mike Blackwell, Adrian Meehan, and Jerry Meehan. Our multimedia production studios, Wendyhouse Productions is based in Shepherds Bush London.

Adrian Meehan

Adrian started his career as a drummer in the band Jocasta, signed to Sony Records in 1993. He went on to establish a successful session career working with artists including Ray Davies of The Kinks, Baby Bird, The Selector, Prince Buster, Datarock, Mel B, and continues his role as Musical Director for The Cuban Brothers. More recently Adrian has produced tracks for Datarock, Ebony Bones and Karin Park’s latest albums.
Adrian achieved success with his own project The Geezers of Nazareth for which he co-wrote and co-produced, signing a major publishing and record deal to much acclaim.He has composed and produced the score for The Other Half, starring Danny Dyre and Vinnie Jones, which won the Portuguese Audience Award. He also wrote the score for 4 Brothers and a Funeral, produced by Zoë Ball.
He has written music for numerous TV ads including campaigns for Andrex, Braun, Addison Lee, Sony, Interbrew and Lipitor. A first class writer and producer, Adrian has a broad knowledge of musical styles and is well known for his classic and innovative productions, that set his work apart.

This was a short film written and directed by Sarah Proudfoot-Clinch and produced by Zoe Ball, we composed and recorded the piano and strings at Wendyhouse and got our Bollywood Superstar composer/arranger Hitesh Sonik to write and record the flute in Mumbai.

Jerry Meehan

Director of Wendyhouse Productions, writer, producer and bass player, Jerry studied bassoon composition and conducting at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester and went on to win a scholarship at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He was principle bassoon in the National Youth Orchestra and a finalist in the BBC’s Young Musician of the Year competition in 1984.
Since leaving the Guildhall he has worked extensively within the music industry, with artists including Stevie Wonder, Beth Orthon, Talvin Singh, Omar, Midge Ure, Boyzone, Bryan Ferry, Roger Daltrey and Will Young. In the classical field he has worked with names such as Leonard Bernstein, Pierre Boulez and Jesse Norman. During the last 3 years Jerry has mainly been working with Robbie Williams as writer/producer and playing bass in his band. He has co writing and production credits on 4 tracks from Robbie’s last album Rudebox. He also co-wrote the hit single ‘Making History’ with Janet Kay.
Jerry has written music for many commercial projects including “Starsky and Hutch”, “The Visitors” and “The Emperor’s Wife”, which won Best Film Score prize at the Rome Film Festival. He has also worked on TV commercials including campaigns for Ford, Harvest Crunch, Doritos, Müller, Pizza Hut, and Sanderson.

A lifelong love affair with recorded music and two decades DJing, Mike has amassed a broad and thorough knowledge, essential for his role as music consultant.
Mike was co-founder of the record label Rodeo Meat in 1998, releasing a series of 7 inches for artists such as i-Monster and Jack Knife Lee as well as cult mash-up bootlegs, all of which received rave reviews and were in high demand.
An eye for detail and a good ear, his research has been used by BT, Mars, Vodafone and Rio Ferdinand. He has also composed for Hybrid, Capitol One, Standard Life and Samsung.Mike DJ’s regularly around London and is busy releasing his own music as well as remixing and producing for others.
